ISTANBUL, 29-30 NOVEMBER 2018. PARTICIPATION OF I.A.O. DELEGATION TO THE THRONAL FEAST OF THE ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE IN MEMORY OF ITS PATRON ST. ANDREW THE FIRST-CALLED OF THE APOSTLES
A delegation of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.) headed by the Secretary General Dr. Andreas Michailidis and the President of the General Assembly Mr. Sergey Gavrilov, with the participation of Members of Parliaments from five I.A.O. Member-states: Greece, Cyprus, Russia, Albania, Palestine, accompanied by the Advisor Dr. Kostas Mygdalis, visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul, to participate to its Thronal Feast and brief His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the I.A.O. activities during its 25 year-course.
The Address presented by the I.A.O. Secretary General Dr. Andreas Michailidis was of particular interest, emphasizing the value of cooperation: “…We should like to assure You that, as politicians belonging to different political parties, serving the interests of our people, we experience the joy of our common effort – on the basis of the wealth of our common Christian tradition…”.
