WEDNESDAY, 17 MARCH 2021. COMMUNICATION OF THE I.A.O. SECRETARY GENERAL WITH THE ORTHODOX PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (OPAC)

The first virtual contact of the I.A.O. Secretary General Dr. Maximos Charakopoulos and the I.A.O. Advisor Dr. Kostas Mygdalis with the Presidium of the newly established Orthodox Public Affairs Committee (OPAC) in the USA, Mr. George Gigicos, President and Mr. Andrew Veniopoulos, Vice President, took place on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. OPAC representatives were briefed on the I.A.O. initiatives and especially for the recent ones concerning Hagia Sophia Churches: The 3rd International Photo Contest on the Churches of the Wisdom of God and the publication of a Special Volume on: “The Churches of the Wisdom of God in history and in the world”.

During the first communication, both institutions expressed the common goals and perspectives they have, aiming to support and defend the Orthodox communities around the world against persecution, exclusion and prejudice.
