INDIA, 26 – 30 MAY 2014. VISIT OF I.A.O. DELEGATION TO INDIA.

An I.A.O. delegation headed by the Secretary General, Member of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Anastasios Nerantzis with the participation of the Member of the Russian Parliamentary delegation Mr. Sergei Obukhov and the I.A.O. Advisors Mr. Kostas Mygdalis and Mr. Valery Alekseev, after long standing efforts of communication and following an official invitation of the Primate of the Malankara Orthodox Church and Christian Orthodox communities, realized a visit to India, to the Orthodox region of Kerala. During their stay in India the members of the delegation, had a meeting with the Chief Minister of Kerala Mr. Oommen Chandy, as well as the Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly Mr. G. Karthikeyan. During the meetings issues of permanent cooperation and the participation of the Parliament to the I.A.O. activities were discussed.

The members of the I.A.O. delegation had the opportunity to meet His Holiness Catholicos Marthoma Baselios Paulose II, His Eminence Gabriel Mar Gregorios, Metropolitan of Trivandrum, as well as the Metropolitan H.G. Mathews Mar Thimothios, Senior Metropolitan of Jacobite Syrian Church. \in addition, the I.A.O. delegation visited the premises of the largest daily newspaper “Malayalam Manorama” and had a meeting with the Chief Editor.
