A delegation of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.) participated in the works of the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community with the status of observer.
The I.A.O. delegation consisted of Mr. Anastasios Nerantzis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, I.A.O. Secretary General, Mr. Sergei Popov, Member of the Russian State Duma, President of the I.A.O. General Assembly and the I.A.O. advisors prof. Valery Alexeev and Dr Kostas Mygdalis.
The I.A.O. Secretary General in his greeting address to the participants and in the presence of the Chair, President of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin, underlined the importance of the cooperation among the two parliamentary organisations and extended an invitation to all participating Presidents of Parliaments to visit Athens, seat of the I.A.O. Secretariat and participate in the works of the 20th anniversary I.A.O. General Assembly. During the same time, the works of the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States were also held in St. Petersburg.
