Reference to the IAO in the White Paper on multifaith and multistakeholder engagement in times of war and polarization

We are pleased to announce the launch of the publication “Changing the Narrative: Preparing for Peace, a White Paper on multifaith and multistakeholder engagement in times of war and polarization”.

The White Paper and its recommendations are the outcome of a partnership between Globethics, Wilton Park, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the UN Faith for Rights Initiative. It reflects the outcomes of four international meetings held throughout 2025 in response to growing conflict and polarization.

The publication highlights the new challenges facing multistakeholder peacebuilding efforts and presents six recommendations aimed at strengthening these initiatives. In doing so, it underscores the importance of an emerging alliance of multifaith and multistakeholder actors, including parliamentarians, who are mobilizing resources in response to today’s global crises.

This publication includes a reference to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) as one of the international institutions of the multi-religious and multi-stakeholder alliance with a significant contribution and role in establishing dialogue between parliamentary and religious institutions. The reference to the IAO demonstrates in practice that the IPU and other international bodies consider it as an important interlocutor and like-minded organization in achieving the common goals of consolidating peaceful coexistence and reconciliation between populations and societies of different faiths.
