Graduate architect of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1972) Postgraduate Diploma of Byzantine Archaeology industry Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD of the Faculty of architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (1993). From 1977 until 2011 was an employee of the Ministry of culture dealing with monuments protection projects, especially in the area of Mount Athos. He was for years a member of the Board of the Centre to Monastic Heritage Center, and since 2003 until now is a Board member of the Christian Archaeological Society. The last decade also dealt with issues relating to ecclesiastical monuments of Constantinople and Asia Minor in cooperation with the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments. He is member of the editorial board of the historical and archaeological magazine Athos Notebooks.

Object of scientific interest of particular research of ecclesiastical architecture, especially the post-Byzantine, with many publications and participation at conferences. His PhD dissertation, entitled the catholic of the monastery Xeropotamou (Athens 1999) awarded by the Academy of Athens.
