ATHENS SEPTEMBER, 30TH 2020. I.A.O. STATEMENT ON MILITARY OPERATIONS IN THE NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT ZONE

The Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.) expresses its grave concern over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the references on bombing civilian infrastructures.
The Assembly expresses its anxiety on loss of human lives and the situation in the region, and calls on both sides to immediately cease hostilities.
The Assembly urges all parties of this conflict to return immediately without preconditions to the negotiating table, under the auspices of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, in order to save human lives.
Moreover, the Assembly calls on all third countries to refrain from actions that could further jeopardize peace and stability, escalate tensions in the region and lead to a large-scale war.
