The hagiography competition initially gathered 222 entries from 19 countries. The judges chose and invited 63 hagiographers to work for 6 months. Then the 63 contestant icons were delivered to the I.A.O. Secretariat.
The icons were photographed all in the same way by a specialist photographer to enable the members of the jury to see them and evaluate the contestant’s icons.
The jury after successive consecutive secret ballots and observing the anonymity of the contestants reached the next 5 winners of the competition. The five winners are invited to participate in the award ceremony, which will be held at the next 26th General Assembly of the I.A.O., at a venue to be announced in June 2018.
A total of 1880 people from 48 countries participated in a digital online voting happened at the same time. First was voted the icon of hagiographer Mr. Yuriy Zemtsov, (Russia) who receives the Third Honorary Prize.
